Taking the carousel as a metaphor, we imagine the project team workspace of 2018 as a hackable work environment where project teams can meet up for blocks of time. Since the Carousel Liquid Space condenses the square footage required by allowing for productive shared space, carbon footprints and energy use from office buildings will decrease. In the same way. animals are split as they go up and down on the carousel, there will be separated times for dedicated teamwork. At the same time, animals overlap in their path of travel; this overlap allows for the spontaneity of meeting people of different disciplines between dedicated project team hours. One of the issues with this kind of mobile working is the lack of dedicated personal workspace. The Carousel also allows for individualized workspace and privacy, by providing personalized, shared workspace for users to lock in during their chosen time slot. By inserting their own tablet, users will have their desktop information at hand at any time, in any location, and be able to instantly share their work with their team members, or project it onto a shared virtual space.
