Recent graduates of Design and Environmental Analysis share a personal lesson that they would like to pass on to new students with the hopes of making their time at Cornell and Design & Environmental Analysis more enjoyable and effective.
Embrace Curiosity
“Although I majored in Chemistry, during my sophomore year I decided to go out on a limb and take a class pertaining to my budding interest in design and I never looked back. By junior year, I was taking DEA courses at the graduate level and am now considering pursuing a Master of Science in Design. Embrace curiosity--you never know where it will lead you.”
Ask for Help
“Talk to people and ask for help. People are generally more than glad to help you out, you just need to ask and be prepared to be surprised.”
It's Not Over
“When you fail at something it’s not over. Your failures are the compelling stories that have taught you everything you know. Fail better next time, and succeed sooner.”
Your Weaknesses are Your Strengths
“Your weaknesses are your strengths. You can learn the most from your weaknesses because they provide the biggest opportunity for the most growth, and by believing in yourself you will go farther than you imagined.” ~Ellie Foust
